October in Central Oregon brings crisp mornings, colorful fall foliage, and plenty of community events to enjoy. Whether you’re into live music, film, outdoor adventures, or seasonal traditions, there’s something happening all month long. Here’s a look at what’s on the calendar this October:


October 1

  • Bend Farmers Market – The final week of the season runs at Brooks Alley in downtown Bend, Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free to attend and full of fresh produce, artisan goods, and local favorites.

October 3

  • Worlds of Song at the Tower Theatre (Bend) – A captivating evening of global music traditions. Starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $39–$59 plus $6 fee.

October 4

  • Swan Lake Ballet at the Tower Theatre (Bend) – A stunning performance of the timeless classic. Starts at 7 p.m. Tickets $52.50–$91.50 plus $6 fee.

October 5

  • Heaven Can Wait 5K 2025 (Redmond) – A community 5K event supporting breast cancer research and survivors. Starts at 10 a.m. at Redmond High School.

October 8

  • Last Bend Farmers Market of the Season – Don’t miss the final day, 11 a.m.–3 p.m. at Brooks Alley.
  • 22nd Annual Bend Film Festival (Bend) – October 8–12. A classic October event in Central Oregon, screenings, panels, and events celebrating independent cinema across downtown Bend. Tickets range $15–$325.

October 17

  • Movies in the Mountains (Mount Bachelor) – Outdoor movie night with a mountain backdrop, 5 p.m.–9:30 p.m. Tickets $25 per vehicle.
  • Kids’ Night Out with Camp Fire Central Oregon – Drop-off event with games and fun activities for kids, 5:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m. at Amity Creek Magnet at Thompson Elementary. Tickets $40.

October 18

  • Fort Rock Summer Stargazing Series – Wanderlust Tours experience, 4:45 p.m.–9:45 p.m. Tickets $130.
  • Winter Stargazing Series – Another Wanderlust Tours event with a winter focus, 4:45 p.m.–9:45 p.m. Tickets $300.
  • Stars Over Sisters Astronomy Starwatch – Free community stargazing event, 7 p.m.–12 a.m. at Sisters High School.
  • The Haunting of Hill House (Cascades Theatrical Company) – A spooky stage production at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $42–$47.

October 24

  • Movies in the Mountains (Mount Bachelor) – Another chance to enjoy films outdoors, 7 p.m.–9 p.m. Tickets $25 per vehicle.

October 25

  • Happy Girls Run (Sisters) – This annual October event in Central Oregon is a popular race celebrating women runners with 5K, 10K, and half-marathon options. Starts at 9 a.m. in Sisters.
